LUMINAIRES AND FIXTURES

Our Twin Luminaires are 24 Volts DC. Each of the two (2) luminaires in our solar street lighting systems use 36/39 Watt Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL’s). These lamps use a cold-start type of ballast which will allow the lights to operate in sub-zero temperatures. The lights do not flicker.

The lamps are very bright at 2.0 to 3.0 Footcandles (Fc) brightness measured from a distance of 20 foot height to the ground. Each lamp produces 2,750 lumens. Therefore, the two (2) lamps when operated at the same time produce 5,500 total lumens of brightness. The brightness of these lamps is typical of the brightness that you would find in most grid-tied street lights.

In addition to the above, good news is that these lights will operate for 10,000 hours or more before replacement is needed. Replacement cost is less than $30.00 per lamp. These lamps can be found at most electrical supply stores or they can be ordered on-line for your convenience.

Each light operates from its own 24 Volt DC Timer. This feature allows you to operate each light independently. For instance, you can set the On / Off times of both lights from dusk to dawn or you can set one light to operate from dusk to dawn and set the other light to operate for as many hours per night that you choose. Both lights can operate for up to 12 or more hours per night.

EACH LAMP PRODUCES 2,750 LUMENS OF BRIGHTNESS. THEREFORE, THE TWO (2) LAMPS WHEN OPERATED AT THE SAME TIME WILL PRODUCE 5,500 TOTAL LUMENS OF BRIGHTNESS. THIS BRIGHTNESS IS TYPICAL OF GRID-TIED STREET LIGHTS. WHEN MEASURED FROM A DISTANCE OF 20 FT. TO THE GROUND; THE FOOTCANDLES AVERAGE 2.0 TO 3.0 FC.
