SOLAR BATTERIES
The Deka Solar Photovoltaic batteries that we use in our solar street lighting systems are 12 Volt DC (96 Amp Hour) Gelled-Electrolyte Lead-Acid batteries that offer reliable maintenance-free power where frequent discharge cycles are required and where minimum maintenance is desired. They are completely sealed and will never require watering. The result is years of dependable trouble-free service.
Two (2) of the Deka Solar Photovoltaic batteries are used in each of our Solar Street Lighting Systems. The two (2) – 12 Volt DC batteries are connected in Series to provide 24 Volts of DC power. Limited one year warranty by Deka Battery is provided. Replacement cost is about $150.00 per battery. In lieu of the Deka Solar Photovoltaic battery, a Marine deep-cycle lead-acid battery can also be used as a replacement battery. Wal-Mart sells Marine deep-cycle batteries for about $75.00 each.
